Check in was a breeze - I arrived prior to hotel's usual time for check in & the registrar tried to find something available, but due to heavy booking, nothing was available for early check in. I was allowed to check my luggage in a secure location, and was told I could return as late as I wanted as the room was guaranteed, and would not be given away. Service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly & helpful. The bellhop went out in the street to secure a taxi for me. Pretty decent roof top bar. I would definitely revisit this hotel without hesitation.
Nothing really to complain about, except it would be more convenient to move check in time earlier than 3pm for those of us who enjoy arriving in the city early to make the most of our stay.
The staff were incredibly polite and courteous and bent over backwards to help and inform.
I did not like the breakfast room which I found very noisy especially during the weekend with the extra guests. There were not enough tables and chairs so people had to take their breakfast outside, to their rooms, or wait.
All staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was serviced/cleaned to a pleasing standard. The location was central for us with easy access to two/three subway stations.Short walk to E.S. buiding,"Macy's" & Times Square.
The Breakfast room being on the small side was rather crowded at times.
Hotel staffs are very helpful and welcoming. The proximity of the hotel to major attractions in New York is a plus. It is value for money. I will definitely book in this hotel if I go back to New York.
heart of city, free breakfast, internet, US free class, locker facility
too small room, remotes are old nor working. no swimming pooll
I didn't like that the 12 floor was very loud with many loud voices and laughter, shortly after that 2AM, the alarm was set off. I didn't like that my room was not cleNed properly. Soap open, toilet used, dirty towel on bed. I didn't like that I called twice to have it cleaned and by midnight I gave up. I didn't like that the entire lobby was full of smoke and noone did anything about it. I didn't like it when the manager hid behind the door when I arrived to ask for help with the cabby. I didn't like that the hot water took several minutes to arrive in the shower. I didn't like that I had to find another hotel the next morning after 3 hours of sleep.
I love the location of this hotel and especially the wonderful historic building. The staff is also terrific!
My phone wasn't working properly when I checked in but it fixed fairly quickly.
Comfortable hotel, larger rooms than expected and excellent location. Good basic breakfast included.
A door alarm was triggered twice in the early hours of the morning, and the staff were slow to action this. Otherwise everything was great.
Great location, good value for money, helpfull and kind staf.
Room view was on a nother building so we did not know what the weather was like until steping out.
the room was larger than expectedand clean. typical of laquinta.
I requested a non smoking room thru Booked.net and the room was a smoking room. not very happy with Booked.net
i really liked the hotel and reception was very helpful when required. I read sdome of the reviews about noise and the slow lift but I was prepared to try it myself. The wireless was excellent which was very important to me the noise was no problem at all, and yes the lift might have taken 30 seconds longer than other but I was on holidays and thought it didnt make a real difference to my life.
The La Quinta Manhattan has a fabulous location for the price, the Empire State building is just around the corner and I could actually see part of it from the room but not the top as it was so close! Also nearby are Times Square, 5th Avenue Shops and Macy's plus some good Korean Restaurants in the same street. The room and bathroom was a good size and well equipped with a big modern tv, desk and free WiFi. The hotel also has on-site tourist information and booking office, fitness room and a business centre with free printing, great for checking in and printing boarding passes. Also, the 14th floor rooftop bar is a great addition.
The breakfast was pretty shambolic. The actual food on offer was basic but nice and what you'd expect for the price but the breakfast room is woefully small and very unappealing first thing in the morning. My advice is to grab something quick and head out into town, eating on the go or in the lobby or your room which is what most people seemed to do!
Location is great next to the empire state building and Madison Square. The rooms are isolated so no risk of noises for those who sleep early
Breakfast ended at 10am but it doesn't matter that much
Pretty clean, nice staff. Could leave our luggage for the rest off the day. Breakfast was fine, although some people would not be happy with the plastic plates, knives and cups. I didn't care about that, the hotel location is superb (under the Empire State Building) and in walking distance to Times Square and subway stations all around.
rooms are very very very small! If you can live with that during your stay then you will find this a nice hotel.
Staff were very good. Room was small, but clean. Breakfast was simple, but OK. (bread, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, juice, etc) Location was excellent. Right next to 5th Avenue. Very central.
Room was very small, but given the price, can't complain. Shower was OK, sometimes suddenly going a little cold......
